California Adventure Rides with No Height Requirements

Let’s do a deep dive into all of the rides with no height requirements! I will put a star (*) next to all of the California Adventure rides for toddlers. Like with the Disneyland rides, just because a ride doesn’t have a height requirement, doesn’t mean that your toddler will enjoy it!

Of all of the rides with no height requirements at California Adventure Park, the only one I wouldn’t recommend for toddlers is the Web Slingers: A Spiderman Adventure and that is mainly because the line for it is typically really long. However, if you can get to it when the line is short, or get a Genie+ fast pass for it, then do it! Aside from the length of the line, it is a fun ride for toddlers overall.

*Golden Zephyr

This ride is a sort of iteration of Astro Orbiter and Dumbo with the exception that you can’t make your gondola move up and down like you can with the other two. It’s a great ride and allows you to get a different view of California Adventure! Plus, your kids will love swinging around which is a bonus. It does have to close if the wind gets too strong though, so just be aware of that.

  • Ride Capacity – 2 riders per row and 12 per gondola
  • Wait Times – Average of 10 minutes throughout the day
*Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind

This is another spinning ride and is very Inside Out themed which is so much and one of the great California Adventure rides for toddlers. Most of the line is in the shade and it moves pretty quickly. You also get a fun view of the Incredicoaster which can be a good distraction for your little kids. Each balloon seats 4 people and is so much fun!

  • Ride Capacity – 4 people per balloon
  • Wait Times – Average of 15 minutes throughout the day
*Jessie’s Critter Carousel

Every theme park needs a carousel! Instead of horses though, this carousel has critters! There are squirrels and even skunks! The line is in the shade and usually pretty short. So short that Ollie and I were able to ride this ride three times in a row! We just got off and got right back on. Since it’s right next to the Incredicoaster, it’s a great ride to go on with kids too small for the Incredicoaster to pass the time until you can use your Rider Swap!

  • Ride Capacity – 56 animals
  • Wait Times – Average of 5 minutes throughout the day
*The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure

For so long, we thought this was California Adventure rides for toddlers’s best-kept secret! There are usually very short wait times and most of the line is in the shade or in the building! However, if any of the big rides break down, the line for this ride does get long, so just keep an eye on that! The ride is nice because it’s all indoors and really does make you feel like you’re under the sea!

  • Ride Capacity – 2 people per shell
  • Wait Times – Average of 10 minutes throughout the day
*Monsters Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!

This is another hidden gem when it comes to California Adventure rides for toddlers! It’s a track ride which is great for kids. The line is usually not too long throughout the day which makes it a great ride to go on if you are waiting for the rest of your group to do the Guardians ride.

  • Ride Capacity – 2 people per row and 3 rows per taxi
  • Wait Times – Average of 25 minutes throughout the day
*Pixar Pal-A-Round

This is a cute little Ferris wheel that your kids will love! Pixar Pal-A-Round is another ride to go on if you want to get good views of the park and feel so tall. The lines for this are usually not too long either! There are two ways to experience this ride: swinging or non-swinging. 16 of the gondolas are swinging and 8 are non-swinging, so make sure you know which you want! With young kids, I would definitely recommend the non-swinging gondolas for sure because the swinging gondolas get wild!

  • Ride Capacity – 6-8 people per gondola
  • Wait Times – Average of 5 minutes throughout the day
*Toy Story Midway Mania!

This is my Indiana Jones of California Adventure. Did that make sense? Ha! Translation: it’s my favorite ride at California Adventure. And the bonus is that it’s also one of the great California Adventure rides for toddlers. We love how interactive it is and, of course, the Toy Story theme. This one can get long too, and it’s not shaded when it is long, so keep an eye on the wait times and get yourself there when it’s at around 30 minutes! Since it’s interactive, only two people can go in each cart so you can each have a little gun to shoot the plates and stuff. If you’ve never been on it, I promise it will make more sense once you ride it!

  • Ride Capacity – 2 people per cart
  • Wait Times – Average of 30 minutes throughout the day
Web Slingers: A Spiderman Adventure

As I mentioned above, the ONLY reason I don’t recommend this ride for toddlers is because of the long wait time. If you can get in when there is a short wait, then do it because the young kids will love it! They get to use their arms to shoot webs and wear cool 3D glasses! What’s more fun?! Maybe watching it? Because that’s what Ollie did. He just watched us do it and STILL had a great time! The wait for this is half outside and half inside so depending on your line length will depend on where you are with the shade!

  • Ride Capacity – 4 riders per row 2 rows per vehicle
  • Wait Times – Average of 90 minutes throughout the day
*Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters – 32” or taller

This one does have a height requirement, but some little toddlers are easily 32”, so this may apply to your little guy or gal! This is such a cute little ride with dancing and honking cars! Ollie loved it and I’m sure your kids will too! They light up the lights over the ride at night and it creates a really cool atmosphere, so I would recommend this one after dark if you can!

  • Ride Capacity – 2-3 people per car
  • Wait Times – Average of 30 minutes throughout the day
*Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree – 32” or taller

This is another height requirement ride, but again, 32” may be in the rearview mirror for your toddler. This one turned out to be Ollie’s favorite ride! I’m not sure if it’s because he loves Mater or because he could see Spiderman flying over the building every now and then in the Avengers Campus, but either way, this is a great ride. The line varies throughout the day, but is usually not too long and is mostly shaded. The ride is a little jerky and swings you back and forth, but it is nothing too crazy.

  • Ride Capacity – 2-3 people per tractor
  • Wait Times – Average of 25 minutes throughout the day

There you have it! Those are the best California Adventure rides for toddlers with no height requirements. I hope that helps you plan your next vacation to California Adventure!
