Phoenix Zoo

The Phoenix Zoo is so much fun! I only went a few times when I was growing up, but I had great memories there. I was so excited to take all of her there! Let’s just say that it did not disappoint! There is so much to do at the Phoenix Zoo. It is so big that we weren’t even able to do everything in the 3 hours we were there. There are so many exhibits and animals and they’re really easy to see which is always a plus!
There’s even a splash pad so if you do happen to go on a warmer day, don’t forget to bring a little swimsuit for your young kids so they can cool off a bit. Since the zoo is so big, I highly recommend bringing a stroller or wagon for young kids so they can take a break from walking.

If you and your family are into hiking, or even if you’re not, Hole in the Rock at Papago Park is a really cool thing to do in Phoenix, Arizona. It is literally what the name says: a hole in the rock. It is about a 0.3-mile walk up from the parking lot to the Hole in the Rock, so calling it a hike may be generous. But the short length makes it a great thing to do in Phoenix with young kids! My favorite time to go is either at sunrise or sunset. It gives you a great view of the valley and makes for some great pictures.

There are so many different types of plants to look at and learn about. We love it because it allows Oliver to get better acquainted with nature in a prettier setting than just running around outside.
