It’s hot chocolate season! If you’re trying to come up with different ways to get that chocolate-y goodness, try this delicious recipe for hot chocolate pancakes.

I love hot chocolate, but sometimes, I don’t want to be drinking all my carbs! Also, there is a very small window of comfort with hot chocolate temperature. At first, it’s too hot. Then it’s perfect. Then, BAM, it’s too cold. That’s why we’ve started making these delicious hot chocolate pancakes. We also add the Clean Simple Eats Brownie Batter Protein Powder that makes them so filling. And some chocolate chips… They are so good! Here is the recipe for our delicious hot chocolate pancakes with our favorite Clean Simple Eats Brownie Batter Protein Powder.

Mouthwatering Hot Chocolate Pancakes

Let’s start where all good hot chocolate starts – sour cream? Yes. Sour cream. We make our pancakes with it and yum. You can also use plain Greek yogurt. I don’t know about you though, but sour cream is more likely to be in my fridge than plain Greek yogurt. You do you. We will do sour cream.

As for the milk, we don’t really drink regular milk, but if you do, add that instead of almond milk! It will taste just as good.

Now the best part – the hot chocolate. Yes, this recipe does call for dry hot chocolate mix (don’t actually make the hot cocoa!), so make sure to grab your favorite hot cocoa mix to add to this recipe. We’ve tried this with dark chocolate and milk chocolate and they both taste amazing!

Let’s talk about protein powder. I used to think that it was a scam. I don’t need no protein powder! Until I tried the Clean Simple Eats Protein Powder. Game. Changer. I live for this protein powder and have found ways to add it to all the food I eat. Cue the pancake recipe. We make some pancakes that don’t call for protein powder, and I’m back in the kitchen an hour later looking for a snack. Not with these! These are filling, but don’t leave you feeling heavy. It’s a fine line that this recipe walks extremely well!

You’ve heard the saying that a pancake is only as good as it’s toppings, right? Well the toppings on these pancakes are nothing fancy but taste so delicious when combined with the pancakes. Really any fruit could go well on it. However, to keep it simple, strawberries and bananas are always a good choice. You also can’t forget the whipped cream because, hello, hot chocolate. And syrup? Try the Kodiak Cakes Mountain Berry Syrup. You will thank me. It’s probably my favorite syrup ever. I can’t have the plain stuff anymore and I’m not even mad about it.

You guys will have to let me know what you think!
