Whether you are a first-time mom or you’ve been around the block a time or two, teaching your sweet baby to sleep is so important! Coming from someone whose number 1 priority was to teach our son to sleep on his own, trust when I say that some sleep training books are so much better than others. I feel like I read the whole library of sleep training books and I’ve narrowed it down to three! This post is about the three sleep training books that will have your baby sleeping through the night.

1. Twelve Hours’ Sleep by Twelve Weeks Old: A Step-by-Step Plan for Baby Sleep Success

This is the first sleep training book I got and it basically taught me 90% of what I needed to do to sleep train my son. I love when I get specific schedules and things to do and say and this did it for me. It includes tips on how to eliminate night feeding and how to get your baby to sleep in if they are waking up an hour or two before you want them to wake up for the day. It’s a short read too and wasn’t super overwhelming to read. 10/10 would recommend this one. However, this is very specific to baby sleep training.

2. Moms on Call Basic Baby Care

This book is easily my second favorite sleep training book. It’s only second because it isn’t solely a sleep training book. It includes everything you can imagine on how to raise a tiny baby. It is so good. Like the title says, it is like having a Mom on call at all times to ask all the questions. It is such a good book to read and an easy read also. The beauty of this book is that it has 2 sequels! There are books for 6-15 months and toddlers. I have them all and I love them all. My favorite thing about this sleep training book is again the schedules that they provide for sleep training, the guides on what to say and when to go in and when to leave your baby to try to figure things out on their own. This is a more gentle sleep training book which I loved because I could not deal with the crying it out for too long! This specific book is geared towards baby sleep training, but the other books have guides on toddler sleep training.

 3. The Sleepeasy Solution: The Exhausted Parent’s Guide to Getting Your Child to Sleep from Birth to Age 5

This book. This is the first two books all in one! I found this sleep training book halfway through sleep training and secretly wished I had found it first! It is like a gentle parent hand-holding a sleep-deprived you through the process. I love it because it is so clear and allows you to create your own sleep training routine that works best for your child and your family. It also stresses the importance of taking care of yourself as well as your child which is so huge in my book.

There you have it! Those are my recommendations on the best sleep training books out there. I don’t claim to be an expert, but I did read a lot of sleep training books with different sleep training methods in order to prepare for our first son. There were definitely some that I would start reading that just didn’t jive with me. I would swear by these books though up and down, day and night! This post was all about the must-read sleep training books that will have your baby sleeping through the night.
